New PSU. |
Whilst I remember, new PSU arrived for the media box last week and was fitted. And now no problems with the ADSL. Yay.

Dreaming. |
Last nights dream, I had to go find someone in a building where they were hiding. The only problem was that this was within a controlled region where there was a large amount of radioactive contamination. We - myself and someone older, not sure who, but reminded me of Grandad - crossed the border into the controlled zone (little more than a few marker posts) and walked into the area, through fields and trees, all covered in heavy snow. We came to a road and crossroads, where there were lots of people driving around in military vehicles and sporting cool looking guns. We headed on, after they had gone, through a forest until we came to a building. I don't remember much more.
There was a lot of shouting last night, next door. Always worries me when that happens.

Dreams of things and weddings. |
This morning was a mess of dreams. Firstly there was a dream about the town being threatened by a falling asteroid for some reason. The solution was to evacuate everyone from the town and then launch some nukes to destroy it (no, I'm not going to go into how wrong that is), with a small group of people behind in the town (because obviously you launch from the town itself) to monitor them in a 'safe' place. After the evacuation, we - that small group - were left to transfer some supplies to our safe place. Which turned out to be a small room in a tunnel with a big metal door. The process was made more amusing by the fact that I had Phil and Lem there to 'help', and Phil seemed more interested in solving the problems of storing music efficiently on his MP3 player.
The second dream, after I woke up and finally got back to sleep revolved around the new house that my fiance and I had found, the wedding day, and her little girls loving the new place.
Which seemed quite depressing really.

Media box PSU. Remote. Banana. |
My media box has this odd effect that when on, it spews noise on the ring main - at least I think that's what it's doing, because the end result is that the ADSL connection drops by 3-4dB and usually has to do a retrain, which means possibly connections dropped. Anyhow, having isolated the interference (probable interference) to the box, I decided that it's probably the PSU that's not doing great, so I'll get another. Which I duly did, and it arrived today. Yay, says I.
I go to fit it and... I discover that the PSU I've got in there is a Micro ATX PSU, not a regular ATX PSU. And of course I've bought the regular. Doh. So... may as well try out the theory - I disconnect old PSU, and connect new one, to see what happens. No drop in ADSL connection, and all seems good. So now I've got a spare PSU, and I have to go get a Micro ATX PSU. Actually the spare's no problem, because they're always handy.
I've also set up a couple of buttons on the remote control, whilst I'm at it, to take me direct to IPlayer's top level, and Live TV from Myth. Which is kinda cute. IPlayer using the XBMC plugin is really quite neat, despite the fact that I don't watch much.
I'm also kinda excited about having a Banana for my breakfast tomorrow.
Yay. Ok, that's a bit sad, but I thought I'd try that as it's nice and
easy and it's yummy
.
Letters today from the Employment Tribunals people asking if I want to continue the tribunals against Picsel Technologies Ltd. This is despite the fact that I wrote to them last year telling them that I wanted to end one, and continue the second. As they've 'settled' now (not that I'm at all happy), I'm going to have to tell them that they're done with. At least it draws a line under that and makes way for looking for new job properly, without thinking about such things.
